McDems “No Kings” Rally 03.28.26
The McDowell County Democratic Party hosted its third “No Kings” rally on Saturday, March 28, from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the McDowell County Courthouse in Marion. More than 275 people attended, coming together around a message of peace and a call for new leadership.
The Marion gathering was part of a broader series of coordinated protests held across the country and beyond, with millions of people participating worldwide.
“Seeing this kind of turnout here at home, along with the energy we’re seeing across the region, tells us people are ready to engage and make their voices heard,” said Anna Caldwell, 1st Vice Chair of the McDowell County Democratic Party and organizer of the event. “Folks are paying attention, and they’re ready to head to the polls in the midterms and vote for leadership that respects all Americans.”
Participants represented a wide range of ages and backgrounds, reflecting growing engagement locally as the 2026 election cycle approaches.
Many thanks to Stephen Knight and Olyvia Knight of Bigfoot Books and Brews in Marion for generously providing coffee for everyone.
